Tour de Fleece 2026: If They Spin We Spin
Every July, while cyclists take on the Tour de France, spinners around the world set their own challenges. It is a time for setting personal goals, sharing challenges and achievements with community, and having an excuse to spin as much as I want, in 21 days. That’s Tour de Fleece, and every July it’s the only excuse I need to spin.
My Favorite Local Fiber Festival: Fiber Fusion Northwest
This weekend I will be surrounded by the sounds of bleating sheep and goats while I walk amongst tables lined with bag after bag of raw fleece, beautiful crimped locks covered in lanolin. I’ll likely smile and chat with strangers eager to share and learn about more fiber arts as we shop the rows and rows of beautifully dyed yarn, clever notions and spinning fiber in endless blends from more breeds of sheep than I can count on my fingers. This is Fiber Fusion Northwest, happening June 6th-7th, 2026 in Monroe, Washington, and it’s easily my favorite event of the year.

As a participant this year, I experienced firsthand the excitement and camaraderie of this unique competition, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
What is Spin Together?
Spin Together is an annual team-based spinning competition, held virtually with some in-person opportunities. In 2024, the fifth year of the competition, it took place from February 17th to February 24th.

I’ve always been a craft motivated individual. From stickers and bead kits to clay and painting, anything I could create with my hands captured my fascination and brought me joy.
