About Evening Spin Fiber Arts
Welcome to Evening Spin Fiber Arts, the natural progression of following the joy of exploring as many fiber arts rabbit holes as I can. I’m Tracy, the busy mind and hands behind this small business.
My Story
Evening Spin was born out of the peace and joy I found in fiber arts, and a tendency to follow every rabbit hole they offer. I began my journey over a decade ago with knitting and quickly fell in love with the tactile and meditative process of working with fibers. Spinning came next, and it took me somewhere unexpected. It became my happy place; something I do at least a little most evenings. From those quiet evenings at the wheel, the dream of Evening Spin grew.
Learning to spin didn’t slow the rabbit holes, it multiplied them. Needle felting, weaving, natural dyeing: each new skill opened another door. A class on acid dyeing yarn sent me down a color rabbit hole I’m still happily lost in. I’m deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest, and events like Fiber Fusion Northwest remind me every year why this craft and community matters. The animals, the makers, the people eager to share what they know with a stranger at a fleece table.
Evening Spin exists because I had more handspun yarn than I knew what to do with, and because sharing what you make with people who love it is its own kind of joy. I hope you find something here that sparks something in you.
My Process
Every product I make starts with my hands, Whether that’s processing raw fleece, spinning fiber into yarn, or dyeing with color combinations that have been living in my head rent free. I use locally sourced Pacific Northwest fiber whenever possible, because knowing where your materials come from matters. When I reach beyond the PNW for fiber, I choose for quality, texture, and what a particular blend makes possible.
My Commitment
I believe in the power, value, and importance of handmade. I want every person who buys from Evening Spin to feel like they got something genuinely made with care. I’m one person, making everything myself, and I stand by every skein and every batt. If something isn’t right, reach out. I’d rather make it right than have you disappointed.
